About our Joint Venture Partner - PROKOP a. s.

PROKOP a. s. has a milling heritage extending over 130 years. The company was founded by Mr. Josef Prokop Sen in the year 1870 and has survived management and ownership change and two World Wars to emerge as one of the most successful producers of flour milling machines on a global scale.

The company had exported its goods under the name of Josef Prokop's Sons with considerable success to foreign countries even before World War I. Despite many new manufactures of milling machines appearing after the World War II the company continued to be the leading manufacturers of milling machines. The factory was nationalised in 1946. Despite the management change, production of milling machinery and equipment always remained the main part of the production program.

One of the most prominent phases of the milling machines development was the introduction of the suction pneumatic conveyance system of the milling stock in the 1950's. The replacement of wooden parts by metal parts was part of the movement towards meeting ever increasing hygiene requirements. In 1962 a new production facility was established followed by other workshops and offices later, which produce mainly machines for mills, animal waste processing plants, bakeries and grain storage silos. In 1989 the company went through an organizational split with two independent companies being set up with all development, design, project, manufacture and selling facilities of their own. In 1992 several daughter companies were established for manufacturing of specific milling equipment besides privatization of one of the two parent companies with the help of employee ownership.

While nearing the 21st century these companies were merged to form a technically and economically stronger company namely PROKOP a. s. While the production of milling machine equipment remains the main area of operation of the new company, it is also in a position to supply and erect complete flourmills on a turnkey basis according to the customers' requirements including automatic control systems and provide any complementary services.

Presently PROKOP a. s. exports milling machines and equipment to 23 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa and America and has offices in Egypt, India, Poland, Russia, Syria, Ukraine and in the United States of America.

The range of plants supplied by the company can be divided into two groups namely mini-units and full-fledged flourmills erected in solid masonry buildings. The 400 t per day plant established with PROKOP equipment in Russia can be counted among the biggest units recently supplied, erected and successfully put into operation.

The company concentrates on development of new machines and improvement on the existing equipment to meet the customer's requirements for efficiency, energy conservation, elegant design and environmental protection. The company has taken part in the development of new milling technology PTMT in cooperation with the Canadian Tkac Company, which has significant advantages of increasing flourmill output with existing equipment. In recognition of its quality system. PROKOP a. s. was granted the ISO 9001 certificate.

PROKOP a. s. is actively participating in several international exhibitions and fairs. It arranges Millers' Day for expert workers and millers from Czech and Slovak every year which enables the company to maintain continuing relations with its clients, while at the same time to showcase the newly developed and innovative machines and equipment for the millers. The company had been active in efforts to preserve heritage mills such as water wheel flourmills at slup and stone mill equipment in Zelezny Brod.

PROKOP a. s. is today ranked among the most successful producers of flour milling machines all over the world with the machines being valued for their technical parameters, service life and price competitiveness.
