Grain dosers are used for volume dosing of dry and loose materials. They find application mainly in flour mills for dosing and blending different quality sorts of grain to a milling charge and also for output control of the cleaning plant or subsequent equipments.

The machine inlet has two sections provided with slide gates. With the front gate open, the grain flows into a volume dosing rotor. In this case, the machine drive must rotate. When the equipment is not working, the back slide gate is opened and the grain flows freely through by-passing the dosing rotor.

Output of the volume dosing system can be set by means of control elements with 1 to 100% of the nominal output for the PDO5 and PDO7 models. With the PDO10 and PDO14, grain can be fed to one or both measuring rotors. If one rotor is used, the grain can be dosed from 1 to 50%. With both rotors, the dosing is upto 100% of nominal output.

Output of dosers is governed by their speed and volume of rotors. The equipment PDO5 and PDO7 operate with single rotor and PDO10 and PDO14 models are operated with double rotors.
